The worst Tuesday I ever had on a job site in Cleveland
I was wiring up a DSC system in a three story Victorian and the customer decided to paint the basement while I worked. Ended up with wet paint drips all over my fresh cable runs and had to redo eight zones from scratch. The kicker was the homeowner blaming me for the mess. Has anyone else dealt with customers doing construction work while you are trying to install?

Eight zones? That is brutal. I would have lost my mind rewinding all that through a painted-over mess. The homeowner blaming you after they made the mess is just the rotten cherry on top.

Honestly though, the homeowner blaming the painter is pretty common when they don't understand how paint thickness builds up over time. Tbh, eight zones with that much buildup would have been a nightmare to scuff sand, let alone rewind. Ngl, the real issue is they probably should have stripped it down first before piling on more coats.
