Serious question, has anyone else had to run wire through a finished wall with zero attic access?

I used a flexible drill bit extension and a cheap borescope camera from Harbor Freight to find a clear path behind the drywall in a 1950s house last week, and it actually worked on the first try.

Did you check the framing spacing first? My friend tried a similar move in his 70s ranch and hit a fire block halfway down, had to cut another hole and start over.

My buddy Jake in his 1920s bungalow had to get a wire from the living room to the basement. He cut a small hole behind the couch and used a coat hanger as a fish tape, feeding it down the wall cavity. He said he could hear it rattling past the old plaster keys for like ten minutes. Finally poked a hole in the basement ceiling right where the hanger came out. Total dumb luck but he got it done.

Total dumb luck" is a nice way to say that was risky.
