Rant: In my part of town, I'm seeing more break-ins where they first cut the phone line to the alarm. Just a heads up.

Ugh, my friend's place got hit just like that last month. Their alarm never went off because the landline was dead. They lost some jewelry and a laptop. The cops found the phone line snipped clean at the outside box. Now my friend is paying for a cellular backup on their system.

So now burglars are moonlighting as telecom technicians? That's a pretty savvy move to cut the phone line first (talk about professional development). Just great, another thing to worry about.

Professional development" is right. My cousin had his copper stolen right off the pole last year, whole street went dead.
