Panel shorted out during a downpour at a condo in Miami last month

I had just finished wiring up a DSC panel in a high-rise lobby when a pipe burst above and soaked everything. The system started beeping random zones and wouldn't arm at all. Have you ever had to rebuild a panel after water damage or do you always swap it out?

oh man, water damage is the worst lol. honestly i feel like this is just part of a bigger thing where cheap materials and shortcuts in construction are biting everyone in the butt. like, you see it with appliances too, not just panels. my friend's brand new dishwasher leaked all over her floor because the seal was a thin piece of rubber that gave out in like a year. they just don't make stuff to last or handle real life surprises like a pipe burst or a downpour. i'd probably swap the whole panel out, just not worth the headache of corrosion popping up later. but yeah, it's crazy how often we're fixing stuff that should have been built tougher in the first place.

Right?! It's like everything's designed to last just past the warranty period and then give out. I see it with houses all the time, builders use the cheapest stuff they can find and then act surprised when it fails a few years later.
