I finally remembered that old customer in Akron who taught me something about patience
Years back, I was installing a basic system for a retired guy named Frank, and I was rushing to finish the last motion sensor. He stopped me, pointed at the wiring, and said 'Son, if you don't take the extra minute to dress those wires right now, you'll be cussing at them for the next ten years.' It happened in his cramped basement, and he was right. Anyone else have a client who gave you a piece of advice that stuck?

Those little bits of advice from clients really do stick with you. It's amazing how a quick comment can change your whole approach to a job. Frank sounds like he knew what he was talking about.

Noticed the same thing happens with recipes or car repairs. People who have done something for decades have these little rules that sound simple but actually solve big headaches later. Makes you wonder what other shortcuts we're missing by always rushing.
