Debate with my old boss about wireless vs hardwired sensors - who was right?
My old boss Mike, who ran a shop in Cleveland for 20 years, told me last summer to never use wireless sensors on commercial jobs. Said they're too unreliable and customers complain about battery changes. But I took a chance on a six-zone wireless kit for a small retail space in Akron back in March (figured I'd save on labor running wires through their finished ceiling). Well, three months in and two sensors have already dropped offline, one during a false alarm that sent the cops out. The customer is mad, my boss saw it coming, and now I'm out $200 for replacement parts plus my time. But here's the thing - on residential jobs with no crawlspace or attic access, wireless saves me hours of drilling and fishing wires. Has anyone else found a solid middle ground between these two approaches, or do you stick to one camp no matter what?

Mike's 20 years in Cleveland taught him that reliability beats convenience every time, same as my uncle who still uses a landline.

Respectfully disagree with you @caseyw12. Convenience SAVES me time every single day.
