Customer asked me to hide the alarm panel behind a painting, then got mad when the motion sensor couldn't see through it

This guy in Phoenix insisted I mount the keypad behind a framed picture of his dog, then called me back three times because the system kept false alarming from his cat walking behind the couch. Has anyone else dealt with a homeowner who doesn't get how sensors actually work?

Nope, just tripped over my own cat trying to test a sensor once.

Did you ever figure out what that cat was actually triggering? I had a similar thing where a guy wanted his motion sensor aimed at the front door but also wanted it to ignore his kids running past. The problem is people see these sensors as magic all seeing eyes or something. They don't realize that motion sensors detect heat and movement, not just what's directly in front of them. The reflection off that painting could also mess with the sensor's field of view. Honestly it sounds like he needed a different type of sensor altogether, maybe a door contact or a glass break detector instead.
