A 22 year tech talked me out of hiding keypads in closets, and he was right
I used to mount every keypad inside a coat closet because it looked cleaner and the customer never saw wires. Then a tech with 22 years on the job in Boise told me flat out, "You're setting them up to never arm the thing." He pointed out that a panel you have to open a door to reach just gets bypassed or left off, which makes the whole system useless. So now I put keypads in the main hallway by the garage entry, even when the homeowner pushes back at first. Six installs later, every one of those folks has told me they actually use it. Anyone here still burying panels in closets, or did you switch too?
