Tried safety wiring a castle nut with .032 wire and it looked like a bird's nest, turns out I was twisting the wrong direction

Spent 20 minutes on a landing gear bolt at the shop in Wichita before my lead leaned over and said "you're pulling the pigtail the wrong way, try twisting clockwise instead" and it laid flat on the first try, so now I'm curious how many of you learned the twist direction from a diagram versus someone just showing you hands on.
