Switched from paper logbooks to digital tracking 8 months ago

I used to do all my maintenance tracking on paper logbooks at the small shop I work at in Wichita. Every job I wrote down the part numbers, hours, and dates by hand. It worked fine until last March when an FAA inspector came through and I spent 3 whole days looking for a record on a Cessna 172 main gear we did back in 2019. That sold me on switching to a digital system. We got a basic maintenance tracking software for $150 a month and now I just scan the barcodes on parts and type in the hours. The search function alone saves me probably 2 hours a week. Has anyone else made the swap and found a system that actually works for GA planes without breaking the bank?

Oh man, that reminds me. I totally get it. I went through this whole phase where I was obsessed with getting the fanciest keyboard with all the RGB lights and like 15 macro keys. Thought it would make me type faster or something. Spent way too much money on it. Then one day the thing just died on me and I had to use this old cheap rubber dome one I had in the closet. Never went back to the expensive one after that. Simple really is better most of the time.
