Swapped out my old digital torque wrench for a beam style after it failed calibration on a 737 flap track last Tuesday
Been using click-style wrenches for 15 years but got tired of trusting the electronics after a buddy had one read 30 inch-pounds off on a critical fastener over in the Gulfstream hangar, so now I'm running a Proto beam type on everything up to 250 foot-pounds and wondering how many people here still rely on digital for safety of flight stuff?

You ever torque a bolt and then immediately second-guess yourself like you're trying to pass a pop quiz you didn't study for? I mean, I keep a digital in my box for speed, but every time I use it I'm just waiting for it to lie to me straight to my face. Idk, beam style feels like cheating because you can actually watch it flex and know you're not gonna get a call from the hangar at 2 AM.

Saw a study once that said digital torque wrenches drift out of calibration way faster than mechanical ones, and I've never trusted mine since lol. Beam style just hits different when you see that needle move and your gut says "that's enough.
