Saw a weird repair on a Cessna 172 at a small airfield in Bend, Oregon
I was at the Bend Municipal Airport last week and spotted a 172 with what looked like a big patch of speed tape over a wing root. Got closer and it was actually a full sheet of aluminum riveted on, but the edges were not flush at all. The guy working on it said the owner 'wanted it cheap and fast.' Has anyone else run into a fix that just looked wrong from the start? How do you handle that talk with an owner?

Used to think a quick fix was fine, but that's just asking for trouble.

Yeah, my buddy tried that with his car's brakes. Saved a few bucks for like a week before the whole thing went soft on the highway.
