Passed my first hot section inspection without a rework after 3 tries
Been doing turbine engine work for about 4 years now. Last Friday I had my first hot section inspection where the lead signed off without any rework flags. My first two attempts had small issues, one was a torque seal I missed and the other was a boroscope angle that hid a crack. This time I took extra time to stage my tools in the exact order of the manual and used a mirror to double check my blade clearance marks. It felt good but also weird, like I finally understand what the old timers mean when they say slow is smooth. Anyone else have a specific habit that finally got them through a tough sign off?

...but honestly the torque seal thing might have been easier to catch if you just wiped the whole area clean before you started. I know the manual says to do it a certain way, but I always lay a white rag under the access panel before I torque anything. That way when a seal falls off it lands somewhere you can see it instead of blending in with the metal grime. My first few sign offs, I missed stuff because I was looking at the part, not the story the part was telling me. The mirror trick you did is solid, that's the kind of habit that saves you on the second look. What did you do different for the boroscope angle this time, or was it just pure patience?
