Lost $40 on a cheap borescope that died in a week
Picked up a no-name borescope off Amazon to check a cylinder wall on a Cessna 172, and the LED flickered out after 6 inspections. The images got so dark I couldnt tell scoring from shadows, and the return window closed. Anyone else had luck with a specific budget model that actually holds up on the line?

The return window probably wasnt the problem, Amazon gives you 30 days and you said it died after 6 inspections which sounds like way less than that. Six inspections on a 172 is maybe a couple weeks of flying, so you should still have been inside the window unless you sat on it for a month before calling. Next time just file the return the day it flickers instead of waiting to see if it comes back.
