Just wasted $150 on a 'universal' torque wrench adapter that slipped on a prop flange
It was supposed to fit all common bolt patterns, but the internal teeth were too soft and rounded off under load. Now I have to explain a damaged part and buy the proper tool anyway. Has anyone found a reliable brand for these, or should we just avoid the universal ones completely?

My uncle bought a universal phone charger that fried three different ports. It feels like the word "universal" is just code for "works poorly on everything." I'd stick with the brand name tool for something that important.

Is it supposed to be easier to use if it works on everything but actually works on nothing? Your uncle found out the hard way that "universal" usually means they cut corners on the parts. @quinn_nguyen is right that sticking with the brand specific adapter saves you from that mess.
