Just saw a huge difference in corrosion on a Cessna 172 after switching hangars
We had a 172 that sat outside for about two years at our field in Tucson. The control cables and some skin panels had surface rust and pitting. Moved it into a new T-hangar six months ago. Just did the annual, and the corrosion on those same spots is completely stopped. No new spots at all. The dry air in that hangar made all the difference. Anyone else seen a hangar move fix a corrosion problem that fast?

Guess the plane just needed a break from the Arizona sun. Works better than a car wash.

Seems like a lot of fuss over a little rain.

Maybe @susanh46 is right, but that rain can hide serious runway issues like oil slicks. It's a safety check, not just a wash. They have to be sure it's safe to take off again.
