Just ran across a stat that has me double checking every waste gate I touch
Was reading through some FAA accident reports last night for the heck of it and found out that roughly 40% of turbocharger related failures on GA planes trace back to waste gate linkage issues. Not the bearings or the housing cracks, just the linkage being loose or misadjusted. Found this in a 2023 NTSB study that looked at 150 separate incidents. Has anyone else noticed how often those cotter pins and clevis pins get overlooked during annuals?

That reminds me of a guy who lost boost mid-flight over some bad rigging.

Yeah, seen that happen. Buddy of mine had his canopy collapse on jump two.
