Had a line guy at the regional airport in Billings call me out on my torque wrench technique last month

He pointed out I was pulling the wrench handle too fast, which can mess with the final torque reading on critical engine mounts. I've slowed way down and double-check every setting now. How many of you actually watch your pull speed on high-torque jobs?

People rushing through the final step" is kinda the whole job sometimes lol. If the spec doesn't list a pull speed, I'm not gonna invent one. A good click is a good click.

That's a solid catch by the line guy. It's wild how the little details, like pull speed, get glossed over when you're just trying to get the job done. You see it everywhere, people rushing through the final step and missing the whole point. Makes you wonder what other simple things we're all doing just a bit wrong without realizing.

Yeah, I learned that the hard way on a wheel lug once, felt pretty dumb.
