Showerthought: thought air fryers were just a gimmick until a bag of frozen fries proved me wrong

I’ll admit I was one of those people who rolled their eyes when my neighbor bought an air fryer last year... figured it was just a tiny convection oven that costs $100 for no reason. Then last Tuesday I had a bag of crinkle-cut fries that always came out soggy in my regular oven, even after 30 minutes. Out of desperation I threw them in her air fryer at 400 degrees for about 12 minutes and they came out crispy like fast food... I literally stood there eating them straight from the basket while she laughed at me. Now I see the hype with things like chicken wings or leftover pizza, but I still think it takes up too much counter space for just fries. Anyone else find one specific food that made you a convert but still hate storing the thing?

Strange how we resist things for years then one meal changes everything.

Right, so @holly_gonzalez61 exactly nailed it. It's weird how we dig our heels in about something for years, then one little thing totally flips the script. I think this is like the smaller version of how people refuse to try a new phone or a different streaming service until their old one finally breaks or they get locked out. The air fryer thing feels like a perfect example of this stubbornness in everyday life, where we think we know what's good until a batch of fries forces us to admit we were wrong. And then you're stuck trying to find a spot for the thing on the counter where it won't drive you crazy.
