My neighbor's block party in Tacoma made me rethink frozen fries

They had this huge spread of food and I saw someone pull a bag of frozen crinkle cuts from their air fryer. They were so crispy and golden, not soggy like mine always get in the oven. I asked for their secret and they said to shake the basket twice, once after 5 minutes and again at 8 minutes, then cook for 12 total. I tried it at home and it worked perfectly. Do you have a different method for getting frozen fries just right?

Oh man, I used to be one of those people who just threw frozen fries in the oven and hoped for the best. I always thought the shaking thing was overrated, like you'd just end up with cold fries. But I tried it last week after reading this and yeah, it's a total game changer. I set a timer on my phone for 5 and 8 minutes and it's actually way easier than I expected.
