My frozen chicken wings went from floppy to crisp after I tried a cornstarch trick
I kept getting soggy skin on frozen wings, even after 20 minutes in the air fryer. A friend told me to toss them in a tablespoon of cornstarch before cooking. I tried it last night, gave them a good shake in a bag with the powder, and cooked at 400 degrees for 22 minutes, flipping halfway. They came out super crispy, almost like they were fried. Has anyone else found a good coating trick for different meats?

Yeah cornstarch felt fake to me too. My friend tried it and said her wings tasted like haunted house chicken.

Tried cornstarch on pork chops too and it worked great.

But have you ever tried just using flour like normal? Cornstarch gives it a weird kind of slick coating I don't like... it gets too crispy in a fake way. The texture is off and it doesn't brown right for a proper pan sauce. Honestly, it's just a trend that doesn't work as well as the old method.
