My air fryer salmon came out like shoe leather last night

I was making dinner for my wife and me around 7pm, threw in two frozen fillets at 400 like usual, and they came out totally dry and tough after 12 minutes. Anyone have a better time and temp combo for frozen salmon that actually works?

Wait, were these straight out of the freezer or did you let them thaw first? That makes a huge difference with salmon. I've found frozen fillets need way less time than what most recipes say, like 10 minutes max at 390. Also, did you spray any oil on them before cooking? That's usually what keeps the outside from turning into a hockey puck while the inside stays moist. Just curious what you did exactly because I've made that exact mistake before and it's brutal.

Oh man yes, I did the same thing with frozen chicken breasts and ended up chewing on shoe leather for dinner.
