Just realized frozen fries are better than fresh cut in the air fryer

Everyone goes on and on about making fresh cut fries but I tried it last week with some russets from the farmers market and they came out soggy. A bag of Ore Ida cooked for 18 minutes at 380 gives me that crunchy outside every time. Anyone else find the frozen stuff works better?

Nailed it with the Ore Ida at 380 for 18 minutes man. I tried fresh cut once too and they just turned into a mushy mess in my air fryer no matter how long I let them soak. The frozen ones have that coating on them already that makes them crispy way better. I actually started shaking them halfway through the cook time and they come out even crunchier. Plus no cutting or soaking which is a huge win for lazy nights.

@the_anthony nailed it with that halfway shake trick (I do it around the 10 minute mark). Frozen fries just have that factory coating that home cut can't match no matter how long you soak them. 380 for 18 minutes is the sweet spot for sure.
