Found out the hard way that frozen fries need a shake halfway through

I was at my buddy's place last weekend and he showed me his secret for crispy fries in the air fryer. He literally pulled the basket out and shook it like a maraca at the 8 minute mark. Made a huge difference in how even they cooked so now I do that every time. Anyone else have a simple trick that changed their air fryer game?

Yeah, I tried the shake thing and it didn't do much for me. I just leave them alone and they turn out fine most of the time.

My buddy's air fryer gets way hotter than mine so I think the shake thing works better for some models than others. @rose_hart31 maybe your fries just need a different temp or time instead, shaking isn't the ONLY way to get them crispy.
