Burnt the whole batch of wings last night
Set the air fryer to 400 and walked away for 20 minutes to fold laundry. Came back to smoke alarms and charcoal that used to be chicken wings. Has anyone else had a recipe go sideways because you trusted the timer too much?

Not gonna lie, I once set the oven to 350 instead of 450 and ended up with wings that were somehow both raw and burnt at the same time. It was like a science experiment gone wrong, the outside was black but the inside was still kind of pink and cold. My smoke alarm has trust issues with me now too, every time I even preheat it gives me this look. Honestly, ten bucks for wings is a cheap price for the story and the reminder that timers are really just suggestions in my kitchen at this point.

Happens to the best of us, but you might be overthinking this a bit. Wings are cheap. You lost maybe ten bucks and had to air out the house for an hour. Compared to what some people ruin in the kitchen, that's nothing. I've seen folks burn a sixty dollar roast or destroy a whole pot of gumbo they spent all day on. Laundry is a decent excuse too, it's easy to lose track. My point is, don't beat yourself up too hard. Just call it a learning experience and grab another bag from the freezer.
