Why does every AI art piece have those weird twisted fingers?
I keep seeing people defend the mangled hands in their AI images as 'stylistic choice' but you can tell the model just doesn't know how fingers work, am I the only one who thinks that kills the whole art argument?

lol the mutant crab claw thing is fair but fingers actually have a way more consistent bone structure than people give them credit for, it's not like theyre that random. The lighting and skin thing makes it extra obvious though, yeah.

My own hands look like that when I try to draw a pentagon without tracing it, so I really can't judge. The last time I tried to sketch a hand I gave it six fingers and called it a 'mutant crab claw'. At least the AI has an excuse, I just have bad depth perception and zero patience. Those twisted fingers bug me too though, especially on portraits where everything else looks photorealistic. It's like the AI got the memo on skin texture and lighting but skipped the class on basic bone structure.
