The other day I had to decide between letting an AI generate a landscape for a gift or painting it myself with watercolors
I went with the AI version because I only had 2 hours before the party and the result looked like a half melted dream, so I’m still not sure if that was a win or a loss. Has anyone else picked speed over soul and regretted it or been pleasantly surprised?

Half melted dream" really hit me, that's exactly how my last homemade card turned out when I tried to rush some colored pencils. I've been in that same spot between time and heart, and it's a rough tradeoff no matter which you pick. At least you made a deadline and the thought was there, even if the outcome was a little wobbly (which honestly can add character sometimes).

Exactly @the_henry, the "character" is just a fancy word for when your glue gun gets mad at you and you have to pretend it was intentional.

Half melted dream" - oh man, that's the perfect name for like 90% of my craft projects. I once spent three hours on a birthday card and the last thing I did was smear the ink because I grabbed it too fast. @the_henry you're right that the wobbly stuff does add character though. My sister still has a card I made her where the letters look like they're having a seizure and she keeps it on her fridge like it's some masterpiece. So either she's lying to be nice or the half melted thing actually works.
