That viral AI painting of a girl with a pearl earring actually fooled a museum curator last month

Ngl I laughed when I saw a guy post an AI Vermeer style portrait in this sub and then someone on Twitter claimed their local gallery in Portland actually hung it up for a day before realizing. Has anyone else seen fake AI art slip past real judges?

Same here honestly, I hung up a print of a fake Banksy for two weeks before my friend told me.

I'd probably be the curator who hangs it up and then posts about it myself before realizing. My eye for art is so bad I once thought a framed receipt was a minimalist statement piece. At least the AI forgery had more thought put into it than my decor decisions.
