Stumbled into a gallery in Austin that was all AI art, and the sales lady got mad at me

I was just killing time downtown Austin after a job and walked into this small gallery. Every single painting was AI generated, like those hyper real portrait ones with weird fingers. The sales lady started giving me this whole speech about how it's a new renaissance or whatever, but I couldn't stop staring at a picture of a cat that had six toes on one paw. She asked if I was interested and I said nah, I can make that in 20 seconds for free, and she literally asked me to leave. Has anyone else had a gallery person get defensive when you point out the obvious flaws?

Lol "new renaissance" give me a break. Saw some article the other day about how AI art can't stop messing up basic stuff like hands and feet, that cat with six toes proves it. Definitely not worth paying gallery prices for something that can't even count digits right.

You're totally right about the "new renaissance" thing, that's just hype. The hand and foot problem is REAL and it's not just a minor bug, it's a fundamental flaw in how these models see the world. I've seen AI art where people have like 7 fingers on one hand or toes growing out of their ankles, it's laughable when someone tries to pass that off as high art. The cat with six toes example is perfect because that's something so basic and any real artist would catch it instantly. It just proves this tech has a LONG way to go before it can hang in galleries next to actual human work.
