Spent hours on a hand-drawn piece then an AI did it in 30 seconds
I spent 6 hours drawing a portrait of my cat with charcoal last weekend. Then my buddy ran the same photo through Midjourney and got something that looked way more polished in under a minute. It made me wonder if the time and effort I put in even matters anymore. I get that AI tools are just another medium, but is there any value left in doing things the slow way? Has anyone else felt like their traditional stuff just can't compete anymore?

That "slightly off ear" thing really hit me, I used to think AI made skill pointless but nah.

oh man i feel this so hard. i spent like 8 hours on a watercolor of my dog and my friend just typed "golden retriever in a field" into DALL-E and it came out looking like a photograph. honestly it kinda stung at first, like what was the point of all that smudging and redoing the eyes three times. but then i realized the ai version didn't have any of the little mistakes that make it feel like mine, you know? that slightly off ear i did on purpose to capture his goofy side.
