Serious question, can AI art ever have a 'happy accident' like a human artist?

I was at a local art fair last month and saw a painter working on a landscape. He accidentally dropped his brush and it made a big splotch on the canvas. He laughed and said 'well, that's the best part of the painting now'. That got me thinking. With AI, you type in a prompt and get a result, but there's no chance for a random mistake that turns into something cool. Does that mean AI art is missing something real? Or can you get the same effect by just typing in a different prompt and seeing what happens? I'm curious what everyone here thinks about that.

I think the difference is that a human artist can see the mistake and decide it's good, but an AI doesn't have that gut feeling or sense of discovery... it just generates what the algorithm says is most likely. Even when AI makes weird stuff from bad prompts, it's still following a statistical path, not stumbling into something by accident like a brush slip or a coffee spill. So I'm gonna ask this: how do you feel about the idea of a human finding meaning in an AI's glitch or output by accident? Like if someone scrolls through 50 bad generations and thinks "hey, that glitchy face looks cool"... is that the same as the painter's brush drop, or is it different because the human had to search for it?
