PSA: Our marketing team's new AI art policy is causing some tension.

At my office, we were told to start using AI for making pictures in our reports and ads. It saves a lot of time and money, which management likes. I tried it for a project last week and the image turned out fine. But our graphic designer, who has been here for years, got really mad. He says AI art isn't real because no person put in the creative work. Now half the team thinks it's a useful tool, and the other half feels it's cheating. Our boss is stuck between keeping costs low and keeping the team happy. From my seat, it's a real debate on what art means at work. Your mileage may vary, but this is getting common in my field.

Call it cheating if you want, but it's just a tool that gets the job done.

You saying it's just a tool feels off to me, @elliotc10. The way it gets the job done is the whole point. If the tool does the core thinking for you, then you didn't really do the work. It's like calling a calculator cheating on a math test, the answer is right but you didn't learn how to get there. That difference matters for building real skill.
