My friend showed me an AI picture of a sunset over Lake Michigan and called it art
I had to disagree because the program just mixed a thousand photos it scanned, with no feeling behind it. It looked nice, but art needs a person's choice and struggle, not just a prompt. Does anyone else think a pretty image isn't enough to make it real art?

So if a person uses a camera to take a sunset photo, is that not art either? The camera did all the work of mixing light and color. Your logic means only paintings count, and even then the paint company made the colors. The choice is in the prompt, same as a photographer choosing a lens and a spot to stand.

Ugh, I read this piece about how the artist's intent is what makes the difference. The AI has no intent, it's just math.
