It's just learning from art like people do, not copying files. Calling it theft is a huge stretch.

Oh please, my brain learns by looking at a sunset and feeling inspired. An AI just eats a million copyrighted pictures and spits out a weird mix of them. That's not learning, that's a fancy blender. If I painted exactly like Picasso after studying him, people would still call it a copy.
