I finally posted an AI image I was proud of and got roasted

Spent a whole evening tweaking prompts to get this fantasy landscape just right, and the first comment was 'zero skill, zero art.' It stung because I put real thought into the composition and mood. Has anyone else had a piece they felt connected to get dismissed instantly?

But maybe the comment was right and it just wasn't good.

Used to be the type who'd defend almost anything if it had effort behind it, but a few years back I saw this painting that was just... off. The artist had clearly spent hours on the details but the whole thing felt flat and lifeless. Someone pointed out the lighting was all wrong and at first I got defensive for them, but then I really looked and they were totally right. Changed how I give feedback now too. Sometimes the truth hurts but it's better than letting someone keep making the same mistake over and over.

Oof, that's rough. People online can be brutal for no reason. It's a real gut punch when you put in the work and someone just dismisses it like that. The mood and composition stuff is the hardest part to get right, too.
