Cracked 500 AI images in one sitting and felt weird about it
I sat down last Saturday with Stable Diffusion just to tweak one character design and somehow churned out 534 images before I even ate lunch. That number caught me off guard because I used to spend 6 hours hand drawing a single portrait back in art school. Has anyone else hit a crazy generation count and questioned if the quantity devalues the process or if it's just a new tool?

lol "cracked 500" makes it sound like you were speedrunning a video game instead of making art. I've totally been there though. Last month I let Midjourney run wild on a project and woke up to 1200+ images in my folder. Felt like I was hoarding digital crap. But here's the thing - I still spent 3 hours picking the 4 that actually worked and tweaking them. Quantity doesn't devalue the process when half of them are trash anyway. Its just that the trash pile got way bigger and way faster.

Hows your hard drive holding up with all that? I hit 8TB last month from AI stuff alone and had to start deleting entire batches without even looking at them. Do you ever feel like the trash pile is starting to outgrow the useful stuff so fast that the whole process just becomes a giant game of digital whack-a-mole?

Ngl the "hoarding digital crap" part hit me hard cause I've been sifting through hundreds of generations just to find 2 or 3 that don't look like nightmare fuel. Solidarity on that 3 hour filter session.
