Warning: my drone footage nearly got me fined at an abandoned mine in Colorado
I compared flying a cheap $80 drone over the Eagle Mine site versus hiking in with just my phone camera, and the drone drew a ranger within 10 minutes while the ground shots gave me way better detail on the rusted machinery. The property owner came out furious about the buzzing noise, but walking the perimeter let me see the collapsed shaft supports up close without any hassle. Anyone else had a close call with park rules or owners when trying to get aerial shots of old industrial spots?

Ranger in 10 minutes? That's insane, man. Glad you got out clean.

Ranger in 10 minutes" sounds like a fever dream, I've been there too. Last time I hit one, I was out in 12 but my hands were shaking for an hour after. That clean exit is the real win, take it and don't look back.
