Unpopular opinion: the abandoned mall in my town was more interesting before the urbex influencers showed up
Walked through the old Northgate Mall in my town last Saturday, same place I have been poking around for about 6 years now. There was a guy with a ring light and a drone filming a "haunted mall" video in the food court, and someone had spray painted a big arrow pointing to the best window for photos. Half the fun used to be finding your own way in and figuring out the history yourself, and now it feels like a set for content. Do you all still shoot places once they get popular online, or do you just cross them off your list?
Does it really ruin it though? I get missing the old days of figuring it out yourself, but honestly I kind of like seeing how other people shoot the same spot. The influencers can be annoying, sure, but the place isn't any less abandoned just cause some guy brought a drone.
