Took me 2 hours to get into a hospital that shut down in 2013

I found this old county hospital outside of El Paso that's been sitting empty since 2013. It took me 2 hours just to find a way in because the whole place was wrapped in this weirdly sturdy chain-link fence with razor wire on top. I ended up having to walk around the whole perimeter three times (about a mile each time) before I found a spot where the fence had rusted through underneath some overgrown bushes. Has anyone else run into a place that was way harder to access than you expected?

oh man, "took me 2 hours just to find a way in" that is the worst feeling when you're already pumped up to explore and then you just hit this wall of frustration. i had a similar thing happen at an old motel off Route 66, spent like an hour walking through poison ivy trying to find a busted window that wasn't boarded up with three layers of plywood. ended up getting scratched up and covered in dirt for nothing, then found a door that was just left unlocked the whole time. really makes you question if the universe is messing with you on purpose.

ugh i mean is it really that deep though? like yeah it's annoying but "universe is messing with you" seems a bit dramatic. you found the door eventually right? so it worked out. maybe the universe was just testing your patience or something. idk i feel like we overthink these things sometimes.
