Spent $150 on a camera I found in an abandoned factory and it was a waste of time
Last spring I found an old film camera in a dusty corner of a closed textile mill in Lowell, Massachusetts. It looked cool, like something from the 1950s, so I brought it home and spent $150 at a repair shop to get it working. After three weeks, the guy said the shutter was junk and parts didn't exist anymore. I realized I could have just taken a photo of the abandoned place instead of trying to save some broken relic. Now I just take pictures of the places themselves, not the junk inside them. Has anyone else spent cash on something they found in an abandoned spot and regretted it?

Bought a rusty toolbox from an old barn and the rust was the only thing holding it together.

Did you try hitting it with some penetrating oil first? I've dealt with stuff like that before and honestly sometimes the rust is doing all the work. If you try to force it apart without any prep, you'll just end up with a pile of junk on the ground. Grab some WD-40 or PB Blaster and let it soak in for a while. Then take a wire brush and go at the seams gently. If it still feels like it's going to fall apart, you can always get some rust converter to stabilize what's left. Just go slow and patient is the key here.
