Saw a video of a guy exploring an old asylum in Ohio and it changed how I take photos in these places
He was walking through this crumbling ward in Mansfield and just stood there for like 5 minutes waiting for the light to hit right on a broken window. I always rush into a room and snap everything wide angle. Last Saturday I went to an abandoned church near my town and forced myself to just sit in one spot for 10 minutes before taking a single shot. The results were way better than my usual scatter approach. Has anyone else tried slowing down like that and actually noticed a difference?

Patience in photos is just patience with life. Same lesson everywhere.

Yeah I tried the same thing after seeing someone do it with an old factory. Sitting in one spot and actually watching how the light changes over time really showed me details I would have totally missed. Now I bring a small stool to keep me from wandering off.
