Pro tip: shooting abandoned spots at 6am beat my sunset photos every time
Two trips to the old Fisher Body plant in Detroit last month. First one I went at sunset for that golden light everyone talks about. Got maybe 4 keepers out of 60 shots because of harsh shadows and people walking into frame. Second trip I got there at 6am, empty lot, soft even light, and 22 keepers out of 50. Nobody else on site either, which meant no arguing with a security truck at 7pm. Anyone else shoot their abandoned spots early or do you stick with evenings?
