Just realized the real history is in the stories, not the photos, after an old guy at the mill in Pottstown told me 'they used to pack the whole floor with kids on payday'.
Anyone else ever get a story from a local that totally changed how you saw a spot?

There's a little park by the river where I walk my dog. I always thought it was just a quiet place. Then a neighbor told me it was where the town's old ice house used to be, and kids would sneak chips off the blocks in the summer. Now I can't look at it without picturing that. It gives the whole spot a different feeling, like the past is still there if you know where to look.
