I think people get way too careless in old factories

I mean, I was in this shut down textile mill near Albany and saw a guy try to climb a rusted catwalk just for a photo. The whole section groaned and I had to yell at him to get down. Anyone else get nervous watching folks ignore clear danger signs for a shot?

My cousin works at the county building department and says the number of emergency calls from abandoned sites has doubled. People see a cool, broken place and just switch off the part of their brain that knows about rusty metal and rotten floors.

Doubled? That's crazy, @palmer.henry. People really forget how dangerous those places are. They see a neat old factory in a photo and just walk right in. Don't they picture stepping on a nail in some busted floorboard, or a whole rusty ceiling beam falling down? The brain just sees the adventure, not the trip to the hospital.

Seriously, how do people not see the danger? I went with a friend to check out an old mill once and the whole second floor felt like it was breathing, it was so rotten. You're totally right, @felix_bailey45, the brain just blocks it out for a cool picture. We noped out of there so fast when we heard a crack. It's not just nails, it's the whole structure waiting to give up.
