Factory shot I took wrong on purpose

Everyone says you gotta use a tripod in dark abandoned buildings. I disagree. Last week I was in an old textile mill outside Detroit and left my tripod in the car. Instead I set my camera on a rusty machines for a 15-second exposure. The slight vibration from the floor gave the shot this weird blur that made the place feel alive. Got more compliments on that one image than any of my sharp tripod shots. Anyone else break the rules and get better results?

The machine vibration thing is genius honestly. Gives it a ghostly feel that a tripod would kill dead. People sleep on how much character a little shake adds to long exposures.

Wait what do you mean you actually shake the machine on purpose? I've been spending years trying to engineer the perfect vibration dampening setup and you're out here deliberately introducing shake? That's crazy but also kind of brilliant now that I think about it. Those little ghost trails probably look way more organic than anything you can fake in post.
