The 1957 Chevy ad everyone reposts is not even the real version
I dug through my grandpa's box of Motor Trend issues from 1957 and found the actual ad campaign, and someone colorized a totally different art proof that never ran. Why does this matter? Because half the 'authentic' 50s ads on Pinterest now trace back to that one fake, so check the page numbers before you share.

Honestly I was one of those people who shared that ad thinking it was the real deal. Seeing how many "vintage" pics online trace back to one colorized proof makes me check sources now before reposting anything. Good reminder that a little digging goes a long way.
