...and honestly that's the thing about nostalgia, it always gets polished up over time. We remember the famous version of things because that's what gets played over and over, but the raw local recordings have all the mess and the truth in them. It's like how everyone talks about the big game-winning shot, but nobody replays the missed free throws that actually decided the outcome. Same with music, I've got bootleg live tapes that sound like garbage but you can hear the band messing up and recovering, and that feels way more real than the perfect studio take. So yeah, digging up that St. Louis feed makes total sense to me, you get the actual crowd reaction and the panic in the announcer's voice, that's the real story.
