Serious question, why does everyone call that 1957 Chevy ad the first "lifestyle" car commercial?
I keep seeing that claim in Facebook groups and it bugs me because the same layout showed up in a 1954 Plymouth print ad I have from my grandpa's garage in Dayton. It was clearly an ad agency formula by then, not some one-time breakthrough. Anyone know where that claim actually started?
Ah yes, the internet's favorite game: declare something the "first" because nobody bothered to check a dusty box in grandpa's garage. Pretty sure whoever started that claim also thinks the Beatles invented rock and roll.
