My grandpa's 1953 Ford ad sat in a shoebox in Toledo for 60 years, and I almost sold it for $12 before I checked the back | 1950s Time Capsule - HW Forums
Man, the shoebox detail is what gets me. Not the money you almost lost, but the fact that somebody in your family kept that thing for six decades without anyone knowing what it was worth. Like, was it just tossed in there with old photos and tax papers? I bet there's a whole story there about who saved it and why, and that part might matter more than whatever a dealer offers you. Condition on paper like that is huge too, so even a tiny crease or a spot from a damp basement can swing the price by hundreds. Get it out of the shoebox and into a sleeve before you do anything else.
