My grandmother's 1953 grocery list vs what I buy now, the egg prices floored me
I found her old list tucked in a cookbook, 2 dozen eggs for 68 cents at the A&P in Buffalo, and I swear I paid $5.40 last Tuesday for the same thing. She also had lard and canned peaches on there, stuff I've never once bought in my life, so it's not just inflation, the whole pantry flipped. Did anyone else's family keep those old receipts or lists, and what item on them makes you feel the craziest looking back?

Lard's making a comeback with the sourdough crowd, so your grandmother was ahead of the curve.
